All Things Sound has been dedicated to the production of reliable websites for small, independent projects and initiatives for nearly twenty years, but is now bringing things to a close. As a "one-man band", I have concentrated on the needs of small groups and businesses: some commercial and some charitable or not-for-profit; some in my local area (central Scotland) but others in far-flung corners of the world. (See the section on Managed Sites for more details.)

Having now reached retirement age, I am beginning to run things down - not looking to take on new clients, but continuing to support long-standing ones for a while yet. Even in my short time as a web developer, things have progressed at a frantic speed from the days of hand-coding HTML files to the use of fully-fledged "content management systems" based on dynamic content generated from online databases. Although I have supported clients with WordPress and Drupal sites, my firm favourite remains Joomla! - now in its fourth major incarnation. I see my last, major project as being to upgrade the Joomla! 3 sites of my remaining clients to version 4. I shall then look to close the business altogether and give my time exclusively to voluntary work for various groups and charities.
